Climate change has hit harder and sooner than predicted and we are already experiencing significant changes on Vancouver Island. This presentation will highlight the current and future impacts of climate change, with a focus on local impacts. It will also briefly discuss the need to support appropriate actions and policies to avoid more extreme climate change.
Dr. Jeff Lewis teaches earth and atmospheric sciences in the Geography Department at Vancouver Island University. He is also a faculty mentor for the Awareness of Climate change through Education and Research (ACER) project, which aims to promote a greater understanding of the science and social implications of climate change.
